My work desk is a mess. I guess it's suppose to be right? But, there's no need to have extra pens, rulers, and xacto knives laying around when I'm not using them. So I thought of a nifty way to keep them all organized. I made my own pencil holder from materials I was about to throw away. It took me literally 5 minutes to make.
SO thrifty!
SO Earth-friendly!
Here's the mega-easy tutorial, step-by-step, with poor-quality pictures from yours truely. :D
Hot Glue Gun
Two duct tape rolls with last unusable piece left on roll (If you like, you can tear off the last piece if you prefer cardboard)
3" by 3" duct tape square- Made by sticking two 3" by 3" duct tape squares together, sticky sides facing each other.

Instructions

First, pick one of the two duct tape rolls. In this case I picked green.

Use your hot glue gun and trace glue all around the first (green) duct tape roll.
Place your second duct tape roll, in my case the blue one, directly on top of the first roll. Press down to make sure the glue sets right. Let stand for about a minute or so, just to make sure the glue drys.
This would be a good time to either make or get your duct tape square ready for the next step.

Now, line the second (blue) duct tape roll with hot glue and place the duct tape square directly on top. Turn the pencil holder around, where the square is on the bottom, and push down to make sure the square is completely glued down.

You can either trim the corners or do like I did and super glue the corners to the pencil holder.
VIOLA! The cheapest (probably) pencil holder ever!!
Thanks for Recycling!!!!!!!!
